3 different Hummus Flavours

Hummus is protein rich healthy snack. It is a chickpea dip. Here we are sharing 3 different hummus recipes – packed with flavour, easy to make and perfect for sharing with friends.

Ingredients/ Method

1. Caramalized Onion Hummus

1 cup Chickpeas
1 thinly sliced onion
3 cloves
2 tsp oil (Olive or another of your choice)
3 tbsp Tahini Paste (Tahini can be made by roasted sesame seeds and making paste out of them with olive oil)
3 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt and paprika

– First we ook onions on slow heat so that they are no longer raw ( are caramalized) and then we combine all ingredients, blend them to make a smooth dip.

2. Greek Style Hummus Recipe

1 cup boiled chickpeas ( you can also use a can of chickpeas)
1 clove of garlic
1/4 to 1/2 cup yogurt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp each Oregano, Parsley and Thyme

Combine all ingredients and blend them to get your greek style hummus

3. Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Recipe

1 Red Bell Pepper
1 cup chickpeas
2 tbsp Tahini
2 tsp Oil
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 tsp salt and Paprika
1 tbsp lemon juice

– Roast Red Peppers on a hot skillet/ in a bbq or on a grill. Then combine all ingredients and form a smooth dip. Enjoy with pita chips, dips or flatbread of your choice

Curried Chickpeas Recipe (How to make Chana Masala at home)

Chana Masala (Curried Chickpeas)

Curried Chickpeas is a  very healthy, flavourful and easy dish that can be made at home using Chickpeas (also called Garbanzo Beans, Chole , Chane etc.)

Ingredients:

2 cup Chickpeas (boiled)
1 onion
2 tomatoes
4 cloves of garlic
2 inch piece of ginger
Salt per taste
1/2 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
2-3 tbsp oil for cooking
1 tbsp Curry Powder

1/2 tsp Kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
Cilantro/ Coriander leaves for garnish

Method:
1. Boil the chickpeas and set aside.
2. Prepare onion paste by blending onion, ginger and garlic.
3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in Kadhai/wok/pan and add cumin and mustard seeds. Let crackle for 45 secs.
4. Add onion paste, salt and red chilli flakes. Cover and cook for 3-4 mins.
5. Add tomato Puree (made by blending 2 tomatoes). Fry for 3-4 mins.
6. Add chickpeas and curry powder and mix well. Cook for 2 mins.
7. Add Dried fenugreek leaves and cilantro. Serve hot with Roti, Paratha or Rice. Enjoy 🙂
