Punjab’s Heart is weeping with the increasing number of people suffering from heart problems. The main culprit is our eating and drinking habits as well as lack of physical activity. Basically, Panjabis are foodies and to make the matters worse our food is over-oily and too spicy. Their I said it and I admit it that it’s not the healthiest diet in the world.
Earlier people used to do a lot of physical work and it was easy to digest food laden with Ghee, Butter and other fats but now with the advent of modern technology we have less work to do and more time to eat. Hence the problem. So be aware, watch what you eat and inculcate better eating habits in yourself and your children with emphasis on whole grains, fruits, lentils and vegetables. Lest it’s too late.
